Frustrated
There’s nothing like going into a room to prepare a patient for a procedure only to have them tell you they didn’t even know something was wrong, let alone that they were having a procedure. Doc dropped the ball on communication tonight!!

This happens to us as anesthesia providers all the time. We are asked to do a pre-operative evaluation of a patient scheduled for tomorrow for surgery. We go to see the patient, and they have absolutely NO CLUE that they are even having surgery. Of course, they then get extremely upset.
What is up with that? Doesn’t anyone talk to these patients?
