NurseAuction.com Aims To Alleviate Nurse Shortage With Online Nurse Bidding
NurseAuction.com Aims To Alleviate Nurse Shortage With Online Nurse BiddingA new website, NurseAuction.com, has launched in hopes of filling the current and projected void. “The site is based on the law of supply and demand,” said Dr. Olusanya, company founder. “There’s obviously an enormous need for nurses. However, many nurses are leaving the field because they are overworked and underpaid.”
I love the idea of nurses becoming contractors and making a LOT more money!

Careful what you wish for Sean! I left archaeology partly because of the sub-contract worker crap. You have no rights (e.g.: let go the morning of work due to a loop hole in a contract) and no protections. There is always some not so great worker/company willing to under-bid you. I’m not saying there’s not a role for it (there are many contractors working at various capacities in nursing), but en masse for the larger nursing force I think it could seriously erode the profession.

You may be right Jen. There’s always a good and bad side to every structure.
Way to ruin my silver lining
