hello Sean...nice blog!

I found your blog when I was searching for some nurse stories during their duty, so I would know about their experiences during their duty.....
you see I'm a third year nursing student, and soon, (well, a few weeks) we will have our duty on the hospitals, and I'm kinda scared.....
what if I totally screwed up in getting the vital signs (specially the BP)? what if the patient yells at me? and so on...I know it's kinda pathetic that a 3rd yr like me would be scared (and messed up in BP, man, even anyone can do that )....

I don't even know why I'm taking up Nursing....but I'm in 3rd yr now, so, good luck to me...

by the way, did you experience having a duty on OR? how was it?

(sorry about the grammar)

Hey sean,

I'm a first semester nursing student and pretty much stuck at that point where i'm wondering if I should go on cleaning poop, handing out meds, showering my pt, assisting with ADL's... or switch my major. In the long-run I was thinking about ICU but can you tell me about your day in that unit and how it is? I heard you don't have LVNs and CNAs to help clean up code-browns/incontinent episodes, and that your responsible for everything... down to knowing every inch of the client. Do you feel like your under compensated for your job and that you would've switched your major if you could've gone back? If not what made you decide to be a nurse in the first place... please don't say it's a calling. Haha sorry I've heard that line too much. Honestly thanks a lot in advance because I don't know anyone else I could ask for advice...
